Split Screen

We used split screen in our music video and they stagger onto the screen. This appears to the main beat in the song, we thought this would work best to create a high point to the video as it was a key point in the song.

To make this split screen I dragged each video on top of one another then staggered them so they came of one by one. I also have to resize the videos to make all four band members fit on the screen. I want this effect to be repeated in the video as a high point.

I think this was a good idea of using spilt screen and has been a success in making it stand out more by having it on the alarm part of the song.

Journal

Today I was able to finish the green screen part of the music video at the end. Now there is only smart parts that need finish such as the fill in the gaps with quick cuts of the girls walking. I also need to go over some of the singing as some of it doesn't much up but apart from that the video is nearing coming to an end.

All we need to add once the clips and shots are finished and polished up is the writing at the beginning which just states the band,song and record label. I am thinking it would be best not to have a complicated font and keep it simple and bold.

Green Screen Shots

I have been working on the green screen parts of the video by adding the prison wall to the background. This has been a little hard as the lighting is different for each video so I have had to play around with each clip quiet a bit. Here are some screen shots of all four band members on the prison wall.

Green Screen Background

For the green screen section of the video we have decided to add a prison wall background with the heights. The group has be researching different types and trying to find one that would be best suit our video. The only problem is trying to find one where the numbers are clear and the lines don't fuzz when enlarged for the video.

Changes to the video

After the feedback we went through the video again and decided to change some of the clips. In the feedback we were told that they liked the cut up shots that matched the music so we are going to go back over the entire video and try have this throughout the video. We were also told to cut up more shots from different angles.

I have started to piece together Amy's section of the music video which I filmed personally. It was pretty straight forward getting this section done as I knew what we had filmed and what the group wanted out of the section to look like and how I visually wanted it to look once edited and pieced together. When filming this I wanted it to be crystal clear to the audience on what happened within this section. It was a success with the continuity of amy and the car scene with joe. In these photos you can slowly see the shots coming together.

DigiPak in Progress

This is my Digipak in progress. I wanted to have a background that matched the colour scheme of our band, red and black. I did want to try add studs to the rose on the CD parts but it made the roses come off very tacky. The bottom left will have images of all four of us in each corner. This is still a work in process but so far I am happy with structure it's starting to form.

Ideas for Digipak & Poster

I am experimenting different styles and different colour to use for my Digpak. I have used an effect to make the band members red and added a black background. I wanted to try different ideas that I had for both my Digpak and Poster and to show my creativity on how I could represent the band in my work.
